It’s time for the mandatory end-year update and recap! First and foremost, I want to thank you for joining me on this journey in 2018. Whether you’re here because of my pop-culture musings, fiction writing, film work, or just stalking, it’s appreciated that you give a damn.
I’ve actually lost track of everything I’ve worked on over the past 12 months, so I’ll jump to the main highlights.
Of course, the release of The Not-So-Grim Reaper is at the top of the list. I worked hard on this and it’s finally out in the world. In a time when everyone complains about things, no one has said a bad word about it, so I’m genuinely shocked. I’ve also received the nicest surprise that the book has been picking up steam over December – never a bad thing!
The other major talking point was co-writing The Lifesaver. There was a one-night only screening in November and it’s due for release on home video anytime soon. What’s truly humbled me is the feedback from viewers who’ve said it’s inspired them to change their lives around. It was the sole reason we made this picture and we’re glad the message filtered through.
In addition, I’ve co-written another two scripts – one of which might enter production next year. Then there’s been some dabbling in the comic book world, too, but I’m not at liberty to announce anything just yet. The other big news is that I’ve started work on my next novel. It’s still early days but it’s shaping up to be the perfect merger of The Addams Family and Edward Scissorhands.
With that said, take it easy over the festive season, peeps. It’s been a rough year for many people and you deserve a break, too. Take time to reignite the fire inside and be the best you.
Your friendly neighbourhood writer,
