If you follow me closely on social media, you’ll be aware of a film project I spoke about recently. I was approached to work on script for the crime drama The Lifesaver, which is based on a true story. It’s powerful, poignant, and a reminder of how no one is ever truly lost in this life. There’s always the opportunity for a second chance or redemption, even when you think you’re too far gone.
The deadline for the script was insane, but we managed to pull a rabbit out of a hat and deliver it on time. Almost as soon as the script was given the thumbs up, it went straight into production. Oh, and as an interesting titbit, Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot movie was being filmed right next door, on the other studio lot.
I’ve been fortunate enough to see some of the footage and I can’t wait to share it with you. I’m immensely proud of how The Lifesaver turned out and think it’ll resonate with a lot of people. Hopefully, it’ll also inspire those who need it the most.

The Lifesaver synopsis:
The Lifesaver is a short film about a notorious ex-convict, inspired by true events. The main character, Vuyo Puza, is played by talented young actor Sihle Shona Mnqwazana. When Vuyo was a little boy, he dreamt of being a lifesaver. As a young adult, his life took a turn for the worse. He ended up behind bars because of his involvement in a series of high-scale robberies. Vuyo ultimately became a different kind of lifesaver.
