Stories go together with anything much like coffee does. So let’s cut to the chase here: I have stories and you have eyes and a curious brain to entertain; we were meant for each other like Ridge and Brooke. Okay, horrible, horrible comparison, but you cannot deny it’s a fair exchange and win-win for all parties here.
In the first bit of good news, Destination Unknown finished second in the Inkitt Star Wars Contest. Can I get a hell yeah? I’ve loved this story since I first wrote it in 2014 and I’m happy to see it getting the recognition I feel it deserves. That said, I owe a big thank you to all you crazy people who voted and promoted it like it was the last good story on Earth. It was a humbling experience to see how many people really, really liked it. Cue Jared Leto’s Joker meme below.
In other good news, Devolution Z, a snazzy publication that specialises in all things weird and strange, purchased the rights to my story Goblinphobia. You can buy a copy of the issue for Kindle here or order a print copy here. If you’re wondering what the heck Goblinphobia is about, here’s a quick summary: it’s a legal comedy set in a fictional courtroom, discussing the plights of our fellow goblin brothers and sisters and their right to be treated as equals. It’s funny, sarcastic, truthful and worthy of a Golden Goblin Award. Cue the Law & Order music.
In other, other good news, a couple of lovely folks have decided to feature my face in their publications, so you’ll be reading all about my ramblings and what inspires me to make cheesecake instead of chocolate mousse in my spare time. Just kidding… Black Forest always wins.
I’ve promised myself to keep these posts short-ish so that I dedicate more time to my stories. I have far too many unfinished works lying around, which deserve to be finished, polished and then unleashed on the world like monsters on skateboards.
Catch you on the flip side!
